The site is located on the east side of Stoke Newington High Street and is occupied by a three-storey Victorian building in use as a pharmacy shop, within a conservation area. The property forms part of a group of three terraced properties.

The proposal involves the replacement of the existing rear extensions with a new 3-storey mews-type residential structure accommodating retail space at ground level & two self-contained flats above, with a further two flats within the existing period building.

The proposal overcame several planning concerns, namely restrictive sight-lines from the buildings opposite, resulting in a unique shallow hipped roof, as well as the requirement to adequately distance itself from its host building.
